1. Introduction
How Many Eggs? is a Chrome extension that converts product prices displayed on web pages into the equivalent number of eggs, groceries, subscription fees, utility bills, and other everyday expenses.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is processed when you use the extension.
2. Personal information we collect
The developer does not collect or receive on a developer-operated server your name, email address, account information, payment information, search history, or browsing history. The extension processes the price text and settings described below only as necessary to provide its features.
3. Processing of web page content
To provide its price-conversion feature, the extension reads price text displayed on web pages that you visit.
Detected prices are processed locally within your browser. They are not stored by the extension or transmitted to, collected by, or stored on a server operated by the developer. The extension does not separately record page addresses or a list of websites you visit.
4. Extension settings
The extension may store settings that you configure, including:
- Comparison item names and reference prices
- Currency names, symbols, and exchange rates
- Minimum prices required for displaying conversion results
- The number of comparison results to display
- Extension activation preferences
- Per-site activation or visibility settings
These settings are stored using chrome.storage.sync and are
used only to provide and remember your selected preferences. If Chrome
Sync is enabled, Google may synchronize these settings through your
Google Account to other Chrome browsers. The developer does not transmit
them to a separate developer-operated server or directly access them.
5. Retention and deletion
Settings may remain in Chrome's synchronized storage until you change or delete them. You can change settings and restore default items from the extension's settings page. Management of synchronized data after the extension is removed is governed by your Chrome and Google Account sync settings.
6. Sharing and sale of user data
The developer does not sell, rent, transfer, or disclose user data to third parties.
User data is not used for advertising, credit assessment, lending, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the extension's stated functionality.
7. External links
The extension or its related website may contain links to external services, such as Ko-fi or another developer-support platform.
These pages are opened only after the user selects the relevant link. Once you leave the extension and access an external service, that service's own privacy policy and terms apply.
8. Chrome Web Store user data policy
The use of information by this extension is limited to providing its clearly disclosed, user-facing functionality.
The extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
9. Data security
Detected prices are processed locally, and settings are stored using Chrome's extension storage. The extension is designed to minimize the transmission of user information.
No method of electronic storage is completely secure, but the extension is designed to request only the permissions necessary to provide its stated functions.
10. Children's privacy
The extension does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
If the extension's information-processing practices change, this policy will be updated and the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised.
